why won't my school compromise?!

Question: Why won't my school compromise?
I'm a freshman in high school in Texas. So I'm like NEVER in trouble at school at all (I'm actually an honors student) but today I let my friends peer pressure me into joining them in bullying a girl during PE class, and we totally got caught. I felt bad about it as soon as I did it and I HAVE apologized. I know it was wrong. But the school isn't cutting me ANY slack even though I have a great track record. I got sent home with a form informing my mom what I did (totally fair) and that I will be getting swats on Monday. I just think this is a gross overreaction. I've never even had detention but once! I haven't given my mom the letter yet, though I know I need to when she gets off work today. I just don't know why I can't get a little slack

Answers:

Because you can't bully. It's good that they didn't cut you any slack whatsoever, because I got detention for no reason once, just because I "hung around people at the time" and they ASSUMED I did it. So even if you say you didn't do something, you are around the area, and you get in trouble anyway. But you claim you did do it, so it's even more reason to get punished.

It teaches to NEVER bully again. Your friends have self esteem issues and joining in with them makes you look like you do, too. Be the bigger person and say no next time, and not just cause you don't want to get in trouble, do it because you know it's wrong.

I wished you had explained what 'swats' are.

You deserve what you get, bullying this poor person is terribly wrong and you don't know how you have affected them, mentally and emotionally. Take your punishment, and now you know you won't be doing it again.

How would you feel if you were bullied every day? Your morale and self confidence would be pretty low wouldn't it?

Was bullied in school and believe me there are long term lasting effects.

I know it doesn't seem like it's fair but the school are doing the right thing overall.
Schools have to treat all students exactly the same, no matter what their track records look like.
You bullied another person, so you're getting treated just like everyone else would if they bullied another student.

It's the harsh truth ):

It's good that you apologized to the other person though, and you admitted your mistake.

its karma dude....you got what you deserved
and how is this related to womens health?

You deserve what you got. Don't come here looking for sympathy.
