I just had my IUD taken out but my husband says it still feels like I have it in!

Question: I just had my IUD taken out but my husband says it still feels like I have it in?
So I just had my IUD taken out on Feb 14th and me and my husband and I tried having intercourse 2 days after. He said it hurt like if something had pokes him. When I had my IUD in sometimes he would complain that if he was on top it felt like "it" was hitting the IUD or something and the top of his penis would get irritated and red on the tip like if it had gotten poked. This was only when he would be on top and did not always happen. But now that I had my IUD taken out (because we are trying to conceive) he said it hurt like if i had it in still, but the doctor showed it to me so im pretty sure they took it out. could it be that my Uterus needs time to get back into shape or what could it be . tSorry for being so grafic. any info helps thank you

Hmm, it sounds a little odd to me. If you definitely went to the doctor and they took it out... then i am positive that it is no longer there, and as for you uterus not being in shape, the IUD is actually made to fit your uterus and prevents pregnancy so it doesn't alter the shape at all.. When you have sex, the penis doesn't go into the uterus, which is why this method is effective. Although it could be that the string of the IUD was actually sticking out slightly, this could cause the rubbing and redness. Although there is no reason for it to hurt after it was taken out, so i am not sure what it could be. Your husband may have an infection or maybe it is still sore from the previous time as it was only 2 days ago. I would wait another few days and then try again, give his penis time to recover and sex should go back to the way it was before. If it doesn't however, go and see your GP and ask him/her what could be causing the problem. Good luck

I would suggest that you speak to your Doctor about this and see what he/she has to say about it.
