I haven't had my period since December. Why?!

Question: I haven't had my period since December. Why?
My last period began on December 1st and I haven't had on since. I have been on a strict diet (about 1,000 to 1,200/day, but I usually go over) but I began like the middle of last year. I'm am a runner and I do go to the gym at least once or twice a week. I have PE at school as well. I don't know why it hasn't started yet, and I'm starting to get worried. Worried that I might have an eating disorder or something else. Btw, I'm 14 and weigh 95 lbs. And I'm about 4'11. Soo I'm tiiiiny.

Thanks for answering.(: have a great day or night

Because you are underweight.

Your period may have stopped because you are underweight. A certain healthy proportion of body fat is required for your hormone production.

It could be a warning sign that you are not eating enough for your activity level. A diet that low in calories can be appropriate for a woman who is sedentary and done growing, but you are very active and still growing! It's not very healthy.

That said ... you're 14. How long have you been having your periods? If it's only a few months, then it's normal to be irregular when you're just starting.

If December was your first period, you're just not regular yet. when I was thirteen I got my first in December and didn't get another until around April. it's totally normal, especially since you're so tiny.

i have gone up to 60 days without getting mine so dont worry
it will all level out when you turn 18 dont worry

There is a possibility that you aren't getting enough nutritions. I'm not going to say that you're underweight, because that depends on bone density, etc. However, if you haven't gotten your period in a long time you need to focus on getting calciums and stuff like that.

If you're afraid you might have an eating disorder, talk to a parent about it. Parents care about you and your health, so if you have concerns, they are the ones to walk you through it. Believe me, I have a friend who's going through that exact process right now.

But get your nutritions, and maybe that way you'll even gain some weight! But having your period is VERY important. Not having your period increases the risk of osteoporosis, which is having brittle and weak bones. You're never too young to screw up your health, and it's very difficult to get back. Mentally and physically.
That being said, you're never too young (or old) to turn it around. Make yourself a nice sandwich tomorrow, kay? :)

Hope this helps.
