Question: Will Synthroid make me gain weight?
I'm 18 and was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I've gained about 35 pounds because of it. I'm starting Synthroid tomorrow and I'm just wondering if people on it have experienced weight loss, or weight gain.

I am on it and it and I have lost weight when taking it, it regulates your hormones and should actually lose weight since your hypothyroidism has caused you to gain the weight in the first place.
NO! It could help you LOSE weight. Make sure you have a doctor that checks your levels every few wks in the beginning...takes a long time to find the right dose for each person.
