THRUSH, URGENT HELP!?!

Question: THRUSH, URGENT HELP!?
Over a month ago, I went and had a brazilian wax for the very first time (I'm 20). A day after the Brazilian I got my period, nothing unusual. But when my period ended I noticed a watery substance on my underwear. It contained fluid and a thick cheesy substance which I recognised as thrush. About a week or two of this happening, I went to the chemist and bought a pill which gets rid of thrush. At least three days later, the thrush subsided. Then, a week later, the watery substance returned but it wasn't heavy. About a week later, my period arrived. My period ended four days ago and I scheduled another appointment for a Brazilian, which was yesterday. Late last night, I noticed that the thrush returned and was really thick. After I had a bath, I put some thrush cream on. This morning I noticed little change. I would like to make a note by saying that I wash myself down there every night, sometimes twice a day and change my underwear at least twice a day since this started happening. I really don't know how to treat this anymore. I am not promiscuous and don't drink. Does anyone think that the waxing may have started this? I would really like to hear all of your opinions.

Answers:

I don't know if the waxing started it, but if both times you got thrush as a result of getting the brazilian then maybe? I know if you get an irritation down there from something else (like sex or maybe the waxing) then you'll get thrush. Could it be something they're using that gets on you that is causing it; maybe something perfumy?

But if this helps at all: taking a bath isn't good for thrush; taking a shower is better. Even washing yourself too much can cause an infection. Anything that contains perfumes and such will irritate it more also. When you get out of the shower put your hair dryer on the low setting and if it gets too hot push the "cool" button and dry your "area." Don't wear underwear to bed and when you do need to wear some undies, make sure they're cotton.

Eating yogurt is supposed to help. A friend of mine recently told me (she read it online or something and it worked for her) if you feel a yeast infection coming on take two pills each of Vitamin D and C and I'm not sure if they have those AZO cranberry tablets where you live--but if they do have them, then those as well. She said her's cleared up that same day.

Are you taking antibiotics or anything? Because something is going on in your body to where the bacteria in your vag is being overpowered by the yeast that's naturally in your body.
