How important is it that you take your bc pill at the same time everyday?!

Question: How important is it that you take your bc pill at the same time everyday?
I usually take mine at 9 PM but last night I didn't take it until 2 AM it was day 13 of my cycle, and my fiance does ejaculate in me each time we have sex. So how important is it that I take my pill at the same time everyday?

If you haven't missed any pills and you are usually pretty good about taking it every day at the same time, you should be fine. There is a chance of pregnancy even if you do take it perfectly, though.

If you use progestin only pills (minipills) that is a different story- they need to be taken at the same time every day within a 3 hour window to be effective.

Don't stress about it, and take a pregnancy test if you miss your period. I also suggest using a back up method (like condoms) just in case.

Hope this helps :-)

That's probably OK. You're supposed to take them at the same time every day, plus or minus 2 hours in each direction. But taking it slightly late one day will likely have no effect. No one can predict what your own body will do, but odds are slight that you'll have a problem.

I was on it for over a year, never took it at the same time and never got pregnant, so for me it didn't matter.

you were only a few hours apart from your usual time its ok
