Answers:

It could very well be both.
You answered your own question, you're life has changed, dramatically. Meet your friends for lunch and/or movie.
Take your baby for a walk everyday, even if it's only for 1/2 hour, you both could use some fresh air. Find a baby sitter and do something for yourself, haircut, manicure, or meet your friends. Plan a play date with local Mom's.
I was terribly depressed after my first, by the time my second came, we already had the system going, play dates, park time, etc. Went much, much easier. You have a whole new life now.

sounds like depression but not postpartum depression as that usually happens in the first 3months of having a kid. I get seasonal depression every winter I feel like crap and get real depressed and think crazy things. But once spring comes i feel better...you should talk to your doctor they have meds for depression you can take and if its seasonal you can use special natural lighting bulbs and other natural meds. get some sun and you will feel better *if it's seasonal",,,also take walks with the baby it is good for both of you

As you were saying you were carrying so it could be the PPD, this is not a very serious problem about which you have be worried so much. This happens due to the Hormonal change in the body, as the time will pass it will be cured. But what you need to do is never ever sit alone and give yourself time to ponder over something. Just keep yourself busy. Identify your fields of interest and completely indulge yourself into those. try to laugh loudly in the morning and if possible do a Yoga (but since you have carried recently please ask expert advice) which will be depression reliever.

And try to smile always and remember life is too small to enjoy, I do not know how people find time to hate... .. Keep smiling always and live every moment of life
