I can't do sit-ups. Help?!

Question: I can't do sit-ups. Help?
I'm 15. We did fitness tests for gym and I could only do 16 sit-ups in two minutes. Yes, I know. It's pathetic. I just find it very hard to do sit-ups. I'm perfectly fine doing push-ups. I can do around 30 in two minutes. I need tips in doing sit-ups better besides "exercise more".

You seem out of shape, or at least a little.. weak? And with that, just keep practicing! :)
I have fitness tests too and we should be able to do at least 30 push-ups in a minute and 30 sit-ups in a minute. Make sure you're doing sit-ups correctly and just keep working at it. I was the opposite of you, awesome at sit-ups but HORRIBLE at push ups. Just work at it.

the key is to work your self up to it gradually .first of all many people have a weaker mid section and can easilly hurt themselves if they over do it trying to develope these abdominal muscles overnight. you don't need to visit a gym to do this and you can watch TV while doing it . you can get a matt or lay on the carpeting if you wish . lay down on your back and place your hands palms down undernieth. the arch of your back and just over the top of your buttocks basically thumb tips over one another and finger tips crossing to form a heart shape in the middle of your hands . this will give you support so you can do leg lifts . this will build certain abdominal muscles without hurting yourself. you can lift your legs partially or as far up as you can and rememeber to do sets and rest momentarilly then continue on . after that ,, continue laying on your back and slide your feet up towards you butt keeping them flat on the floor . now place your hands under your thighs and do crunches or half sit ups . it is easier on you and will build your abs just as well without killing yourself, remember ,, more is better so take 10 to 15 seconds breathers and on to the next set of ten or fifteen. you will notice some soreness after a day or two but that means it's working. it works for me

Start with crunches and work your way up. Situps just take time. I stared out doing 60 in two minutes now I can do about 90

You can't use the "I am a woman so it's ok to be lazy" excuse.

Train harder.
