Meta analysis of evening primrose/epogram/Gamolenic acid has really failed to show any really significant therapeutic effects though claims are still made for its many supposed properties.

I had irregular periods and I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago. I had a blood test which showed that I had hormonal imbalance. Doctors told me to go on birth control, but I've heard that they aren't very good because they don't guarantee regular periods once you stop taking them. I did a bit of research and found 2 herbal medications called 'Agnus Castus' and 'Evening Primrose Oil'. After taking these tablets for 3 months my periods became regular and have been ever since. I would definitely recommend trying the herbal medications. And once you start, make sure you carry on taking them as they may become irregular again once you stop taking the tablets. Only hormones have the power to change your period.

I really think people make some big mistakes by screwing with their bodily functions. Unless you know every single thing there is no know about this primrose stuff, leave it alone and ask your doctor.
