Do I have a yeast infection or something else?!

Question: Do I have a yeast infection or something else?
Recenlty my vaginal area has been irritated, mainly itchy. I have had yeast infections before and the itching was much worse but this is still not normal. There is no burning when I pee or any other sort of pain. I have been very stressed lately and just had my period which leads me to think it is a yeast infection. My other thoughts is the slight chance it could be an STD. I have not had sex, but my boy friend and I fool around, recently I've made him wear a condom to be safe but theres still skin to skin contact from time to time. I know the chance for an STD is there but likely somewhat slim. What do you think?

A lot of women think they have a yeast infection when they actually have a bacterial infection called Bacterial Vaginosis. Even women who have never had sex can get this infection.
This can cause some women to have the symptoms you are experiencing.I have had this infection at times in my life and sometimes you don't have any symptoms at all.
It usually is best to have a gyno diagnose it because it does need a prescription to clear it up.
Metro-Gel is usually what they prescribe. It is an antibiotic gel that you insert for 5 days.
Well, do you know your boyfriend's sexual history?
I doubt that you have an STD - but to be on the safe side, check with your gynecologist if the symptoms get worse or you start having a discharge that has an odor.
