Birth Control and missed days...what should I do?!

Question: Birth Control and missed days...what should I do?
Situation: I missed a few days on birth control, last one I had taken was Tuesday, so I doubled up last night for Tue & Wed, tonight I'll double up again, as well as tomorrow to be caught up. I noticed I was spotting, is that normal?? Should I continue doubling up or should I wait until next month to start over? I'm worried because of the spotting...

Spotting is normal in these circumstances. However, you've missed too many days in a row for your doubling up method to work. Read the package insert in your pills, but typically, if you miss two days in a row, you can double up for the next 2 days. But if you miss 3 days in a row as you have, then they tell you to throw away the pack and start a new one, and use backup birth control for a month.

Its really not a good idea to double up on any kind of medication, that can be very dangerous to you. Just get back on track by starting over again the next time your meds are due then wait until the next time do not double up. and be careful that you being abstinent cause the birth control might not be working correctly if you are are missing some doses. The spotting is normal if you have missed doses just get back on track and again do not double up!!! I hope this helps. Take Care.

Do not double up as it can cause health problems and spotting as the cycle is now out of sync.
