Mature Serious Adult Question?!

Question: Mature Serious Adult Question?
I just attempted to have sex with my boyfriend for the first time a couple of hours ago. I am 21 years old, and have never inserted anything in there before. He first tried a finger and that was fine, uncomfortable, but bearable. When it came to the actual penetration it hurt a lot. I didn't bleed, but he couldn't even get more than half way inside. He's average in size. I know it was just the first time but Im very tolerable when it comes to pain, but this hurt really really bad. We had to stop. I know it differs from woman to woman, but I just need to be reassured its normal. Is it normal? When could I expect it to get better? I was fully aroused and wet at the start and then just dried up after a while, the pain was a total turnoff.

It is totally normal to experience pain with intercourse during the first time. Bleeding occurs when the hymen in the vagina is ruptured or tears due to the friction of penetration. This does not always happen on the first time, however, I'm sure that it will happen eventually.

I remember my first time being painful as well as the second, third, and even fourth time. It is different for every woman. I used to wonder why people enjoyed this activity so much being that it was so painful (from my experience). But rest assured, it does get better and you will eventually feel pleasure rather than pain. Give it time and always be safe!!

I think you should talk to your doctor about this. I don't think sex is really cofontarble at first. Hope this helps.
