Does sleeping in skinny jeans make you skip periods?!

Question: Does sleeping in skinny jeans make you skip periods?
I sleep in skinny jeans a lot and I've skipped my period a few times before. My friend told me it was because of the skinny jeans, is that true?

If it were that easy, we'd all be wearing skinny jeans around the clock.

No, it's not true. Your reproductive system doesn't know or care what you're wearing.

No but maybe yes. Sleeping in skinny jeans should not cause you to skip a period. Periods can be skipped for a variety of natural reasons that are not alarming HOWEVER if you are wearing pants that are too tight at all times you might be causing another underlying medical problem that could affect your cycle. By sleeping in tight clothing you could be creating an unhealthy environment that is susceptible to infection. Infections typically are not the cause of the missed period but rather they can change the hormone levels in your body. If you take an antibiotic to fight an infection it does not cause you to skip a period but it will also cause a change in your hormonal levels.Whether you have taken an antibiotic or if your body is fighting an infection on it's own- When hormone levels are altered, your period can be missed.

So keep in mind that the act of sleeping tight clothing does not alter your cycle. However it can start a domino effect that could lead to altered hormones that in RARE circumstances effect hormone levels and cause a period to be irregular.

No. Clothing can not make you skip periods. If your skipping periods it can mean a couple of things:

1.) If you had unprotected sex before you could be pregnant.
2.) You could have irregular periods. My friend used to have irregular periods where she'll have months she'll skip and even only have her period 2 times a year.
3.)You could have a medical condition that might be serious.
4.) Your birth control makes your skip periods.
5.) You haven't had your period for a long time. Most girls who only had their periods for less than 2-3 years can get irregular periods.

No. Your period starts and stops each month because the hormones in your body tell it to. If you have not had your period for very long, that could be the cause of your missing cycle.

No. It has absolutely nothing to do with it, it can't. It's caused by hormones and it's pretty normal for young girls to skip off and on (I'm assuming you are young).

Absolutely not. has nothing to do with your cycle at all.
Your period /cycle happens because of the hormone levels you go through during the month.
