Hi Sarah

A clear ultrasound of your ovaries does not rule out PCOS. Only a minority of PCOS sufferers show cysts on ultrasound at any given point in time. But blood tests might have helped with a negative PCOS diagnosis. And actually prolactin is normally only slightly elevated in PCOS, not "very very high" as you mention. Hyper-prolactinemea can mimic PCOS and perhaps hence the confusion.

Whilst prolactin levels can be high if you have been breast feeding, and this is perhaps the most likely cause, I am a bit concerned about the pressure in your neck. A differential diagnosis could be a prolatinoma (a growth on your pituitary gland). I would therefore be looking to do an MRI scan of your head and neck to rule that out.

Perhaps you have a Prolactinoma? http://www.medicinenet.com/prolactinoma/… Prolactinomas are tumors on the pituitary (the master hormone gland) which cause an over production of prolactin. I am 19 and my prolactin levels (when first diagnosed) were 450 ng/ml. Super high, yes?
I highly recomend a MRI of your brain... these tumors are benign and can be treated with medication (no brain surgery) and hopefully your life will return to normal.
Best of luck!

have a prolactinoma without being pregnant. Just message me if you want more information.
