Tried to skip my period but still bleeding?!

Question: Tried to skip my period but still bleeding?
So, I am on the Yasmin pill, and it's your average pill, take it every day for 3 weeks, then take a week off for your period.
But last month, I decided to not have my period (doctor said this would be fine) and didn't take my week off, just kept going with the next pack. All went well, except my breasts got really sore and swelled up, but tbh, I wasn't gonna complain about that...

This month, I have tried to do the same thing but I've been getting really bad cramp and I am still bleeding, it's like a very, very light period. Not enough to be considered a period and wear a tampon, but enough that I can't go out in just knickers without a pad or panty liner. It's been going for about a week now.

Can anyone suggest why this may be happening and how to prevent it happening in future? I think it may be because I took my pill later the 2nd time I tried to skip my period, but as long as you take it within 12 hours of your normal time, this shouldn't really have affected it that much, should it?

Answers:

your body is just adjusting to the change, there's nothing you can do to prevent this happening in the future, but if you keep doing this your body should adjust in a couple months

I don't think you should skip two in a row. Are you sure the doctor said that was fine?
