Messed up periods and why?!

Question: Messed up periods and why?
What can affect a girls period? and how do you solve this problem? is it serious?
I've had messed up periods for so long and its a pain. recently, i cant remember the last time i got one though, and even before then when i 'did' it was never like (sorry to describe this :( but..) wasnt really liquid or blood, was just like bits.
I've been to the doc and they always say its a sign things arent good or right in a women, but i did blood tests and ultra scan, but nothing showed up, though i thought id have thyroid or polysistic ovaries as i had so many symptoms, but nothing. I try taking primrose to help with hormones but still bothing helps.
Was wondering if there is a unerlining cause, like diet, weight? etc? and can this be harmful to a woman?
thnx

You may have PCOS and there are several version of it. If you do not have a period every month or month and a half, the times that you do may result in menstrual fluid being extremely old and thick. Which is why you see the bits.

You should have a period 3-4 months a year. If you do not then you need to see a doctor who can put you on premarian or birth control which will help you have a period. If you do not have a menstrual cycle at least 3- 4 times a year it could cause uterus cancer.

Have the same problems

Get a new doctor, don't stop till one gives you an answer. A lot of girls have problems with their period, it could be many of things. It's very common for doctors to put women on birth control to regulate irregular periods.

personal expierence.
