Did I accidently break my hymen?!

Question: Did I accidently break my hymen?
I was riding my bike and stopped too quickly, and I hit my pelvis against the bottom bars. A few days later I had an itching sensation in my vagina and started bleeding but it wasn't my period. I believe in waiting until marriage until I have sex, and I am terrified that I won't have my hymen. Did I break it?

Unlikely.

Your hymen doesn't break for a start - it wears away and stretches over time, or can be torn - your hymen is tissue, it's no different from any other tissue in your vagina, vulva or body in general, it isn't fragile so doesn't 'break'. Know that the hymen will likely wear away on it's own through general activity and menstruation, if you insert anything into your vagina such as tampons or menstrual cups, fingers or toys during masturbation or foreplay then the hymen can be stretched or torn.

For your hymen to tear it would also require vaginal penetration, when you fell off your bike you hit your pelvis, even if you had hit your vulva on the bottom bars the labia protect the vulva, and your hymen is within the opening to your vagina, so well protected from any trauma...if your hymen could be torn by this then it would have been just as likely for the tissues of the rest of your vulva to become torn, or the skin on your arm to become torn if you ever fell on your arm...the tissue making-up your hymen doesn't just spontaneously tear.

The bleeding could have been down to hormonal changes causing mid-cycle spotting. Also know that your hymen has nothing at all to do with sex, it's just tissue, your hymen can tear or wear away long before you ever have sex and having no hymen or a torn hymen isn't a reflection on whether or not you're a virgin or what will happen if/when you do eventually have sex.

You may have, but hon, contrary to popular belief, the state of your hymen has nothing to do with the state of your virginity. Girls break their hymens in all sorts of ways-horseback riding, gymnastics-heck, I knew a girl in middle school who broke hers in a car accident. There are also girls with super-flexible hymens that don't break even when they do have sex. All the hymen is is a very thin piece of tissue that covers the opening of the vagina. Presence or absence of it does not indicate virginity.

probably YES , cz it breaks down if hardly rubbed , hardly masturbated etc
i think it broke..... :)

The status of your hymen has nothing to do with whether or not you're a virgin......

i dont think you could break it by merely braking too fast on your bike, but if you want to be sure you should ask your doctor or see what your mom/sister think?

i dont think u broke it
