how do i tell my mom that i want to use tampons instead of pads?!

You could say mom, summers comming up and everyone will be at a pool/lake/beach (whereever you live) and i wont be able to go swimming when im on my period. she will most likley say well you can wear a pad and shorts too, in that case just say but im afraid it will leak into the water, and its just not worth it, if she says then dont go swimming say well i cant just sit on the side cause they will know whats up.. or if you have gym you could say but everyone can see my pad when i change

I had the exact same problem I first got my period when I was 12 now I'm truning 15 and I'm in high school. I started playing sports and my mom had no choice. You can't focus when u feel wet. If that doesn't work. Just buy them yourself and borrow a friends. Is you have an older sibling or cousin maybe they can talk to your mom

if you are not gonna tell her what you told us than there is no way you can tell her...the right thing to do would be wait some more and get her used to the idea for a time by just opening the subject..

well i wanted to get tampons and use them i just simply asked my mom can u get me tampons ?.....just plan out and ask her its that simple

Just Say Mom I think Its weird 2 were a pad bcuz ur sitting in your own blood and then say i would much rather wear tampons instead of pads. I hope i helped out!

Explain to her the discomfort you experience every time you use a pad. Also explain that you will be responsible in changing your tampon every 8 hours or less, and that you will use the minimum absorbency required.
When I explained it to my grandmother that I wanted to use tampons, her main concern was nighttime usage. Perhaps you could compromise and tell your mother that you will use pads at night, or explain to her that you will not sleep for much more than 8 hours.

13 is too young to use tampons to be fair. not illegal but you are better off using pads for a few more years until your body has fully adjusted.
Besides, tampons can cause a serious infection if used when period is heavy and not changed constantly which can be fatal in most cases.
Wilkinson's own brand of pads that are like 14p a pack are the very best, no itching or smelling and they absorb your blood well enough so your not 'sitting in it'
your mum wont like you using them due to your age and plus i tried them once and they REALLY hurt me, they arent worth it.
A proper sized fitting pad (teenaged ones are best for you) will not move and will be fine for you, change regularly and you will be fine :)
