Question: Too much bleeding during period? Ladies or health professionals only plz!?

Hello. I am on my 5th day of my period. From the first day of this period I have had a really large amount of bleeding. I have to wear the maximum absorbency tampon AND maximum protection pad and bleed thru them both in 1-2 hours. I am also having to get up multiple times a night to change both. I also have very large clots coming out as well. Is this okay or should I ask my doctor?

There's too much unknown here...How old are you? How long have you been having your period? Has it "always been this way" or is this new? How much pain/cramping are you having? Could you possibly have been pregnant? How long are your cycles in general...is that different now?

See? it's difficult to know what to tell you beyond...well, this may be perfectly normal (sometimes my cycles are that intense) or this may not be normal...we just don't know what's "normal" for you.

BTW...those aren't "clots" but the uterine lining being shed.

Go see your doctor. Only by getting the full history and full picture can anything be determined.
