How Can I Hide My Cuts?!

Question: How Can I Hide My Cuts?
I've cut myself for a while now.. at least the past 3 months. They've been a wreck. My parents don't know I do it. I don't want to dissapoint them.. But how do I hide them? It's not realyl fun wearing long sleeves in the summer (when it gets to summer). How do I hide my cuts?

Answers:

You can't really hide them. And if you continue to cut in visible places, you will have scars that people will ask you about for the rest of your life. (Seriously, I stopped cutting nearly ten years ago, and my scars are still visible, and people ask me about them all the time when I'm wearing short sleeves.)

You really need to get help for your cutting. I didn't get along well with my parents, either, and they certainly weren't able to help with it (somehow they always managed to say or do exactly the wrong thing), but I did have a teacher at school who was very supportive.

If you're not comfortable going to your parents, you should talk to a school counselor or teacher, or if you go to church, to your pastor, or if you play sports, to your coach, or, really, to any adult that you have contact with and feel like you can trust.

You need someone to help with this. It's way too much to deal with on your own, and no one expects you to.

I doubt your parents will be mad at you. I had an awful relationship with my parents as a teenager, and we fought constantly. But they weren't mad when they found out I was cutting myself, upset, sure, but definitely not mad.

There's a saying that prevention is better than cure. So STOP cutting yourself, trust me you won't feel any better. It's all inside your mind. You're only hurting yourself. If you want to talk to someone who cares like a councilor and they will help you solve your problem. But for now, you have no choice but to wear long sleeves. After your wound have heal, don't cut it anymore!

P.S I have a friend who likes to cut herself and she even burns herself by using hot wax from a candle. After a teacher found out and me and my another friend talk to her, she's better now. So STOP doing that!

I don't know if you're a guy but you could consider wearing a watch, maybe even if you're a girl. You could even wear band aids without suspicion for a little while. Maybe even draw over them with sharpie or something to hide the marks and have a cool design on your arm. Get creative. But the only reason I tell you this is to help you hide it from your parents. I don't know what your problems are but i don't think making yourself bleed solves anything. If you enjoy it so much, cut yourself in a less visible area.

you just started cutting?? why do you cut...?? is it just to be cool and fit in with emos? just stop. it wont make the pain go away for but a second.. and why are u posting this on yahoo? you should probably never pick up a razor or knife until you get confidence in yourself. talk to some one about ur feelings. like maybe your school counsaler... please... also, this is womens health. not mental, or physctriatic.

Try putting up some tattoos intelligently, this may help you look even more trendier and no one will come to know about the cuts.

The better question is where can you get help, you obviously have some other problems if you are cutting yourself...as for hiding them, I have no suggestions.

stop cutting, thats not good for you. You should talk to your parents about whats making you cut yourself, they will help. Good luck
