Ruptured ovarian cyst?!

Question: Ruptured ovarian cyst?
I was in the ER 5 days ago and after an ultrasound they determined I have a ruptured hemorrhagic ovarian cyst, free fluid in my upper abdomen, and a little bit of blood in my abdomen. I also quit smoking the day before this happened. I am underweight and have a normal low blood pressure. I have been light headed and weak for days now. The pain is gone but I'm worried about the hemorrhage. I have the follow up appointment in 5 days, soonest I could get one, and I can't get anyone to answer any questions over the phone, they all say just go back to the ER if you are concerned. So could the light headedness and weakness be because I quit smoking or should I go back to the hospital because it might be internal bleeding or something?

Answers:

It could be, but it could also be because you have such low blood pressure. Stop worrying about it, you are seeing the doctor...write down your questions and make sure you ask them all.

The ER is your best bet. Even if it is just because you quit smoking, it's not worth the risk. You should take this seriously. Internal bleeding is fatal and you should not risk your life in thinking that it "may" be because you quit smoking.
