Irregular Periods - please help!?!

Question: Irregular Periods - please help!?
I am 13 and have had my periods a little over a year now. They are usually regular, every month or so, and not very heavy, just normal, but recently they're become really heavy and extremely irregular. The one before last was two weeks early, and the latest one was three weeks early! Please give me some advice, I'm a bit embarrassed to ask my mum or the doctor. Thanks. :)

yes you may think that you are having regular periods because they may be regular in starting but they are actually aren't
so don't worry until you are above 16

As you are only 13, your periods will be irregular for about another 2 years. I started mine when I was 11 and I'm 16 now and they got regular when I was 14, so by the time you're 15, they should have settled out. Some people go on the pill to make their periods regular, I went on when I was 15 and they are really good, but I wouldn't recommend going on at 13. Wait a few years and they will sort themselves out.

They'll be irregular when you first start, I'm 20 now and started when I was 13 and I'm still irregular, if you want to keep them regular there are birth controls you can take which might help, it's always worth going to the doctors, it's nothing to be embarrassed about, it's natural
