you should'nt have sex unless you absolutely want to. you are 17, so you are obviously old enough to make the smart decision (not saying age has anything to do with it)
unless you LOVE him and know YOU want to then don't. you should also always consider pregnancy, STDs, etc. if he breaks up with you because you don't want to then he wasn't worth your time anyway.
