Will I leak when swimming with a tampon?!

Question: Will I leak when swimming with a tampon?
I know that tampons are fine to wear in the water but I also know that your period 'stops' in water because of the pressure and stuff. But once you get out of the water, your period will start gushing out again. I have a pretty heavy period but i'm going swimming in two days time so it shouldn't be too bad by then. I'm just so worried i'll 'leak' a little when i GET OUT of the pool.

If you have heavy periods and you've gone swimming with a tampon, how did it go? Please let me know so i can be prepared. Also, i've only used a tampon once before, and that was today for an hour. It was kind of uncomfortable. Should I practice again or what, before tuesday? And should i wear a black bikini just to be safe? Thanks!

i know what you feel like, when my periods first started i had swimming at school and i was so nervous, i used a tampon and it was absolutely fine. i swim all the time with tampons in and its always fine :) i would recommend practicing and getting more comfortable with them just to make you feel less nervous, you could try one in the bath? i dont think its necessary for you to wear a black bikini but you might feel less selfconscious :) i hope this helped :)

Change your tampon just before you go in to the pool and you should be fine, then change it again after you've finished swimming. Make sure its a good absorbency tampon and you should be fine. If you have any discomfort whilst using a tampon you haven't pushed it in far enough. Try putting a dollop of KY jelly or lube onto the end and it will slide in easily, make sure you push it in as far as it will go.

I did that once and it was fine (: As long as its in the right place and its secure than you won;t leak when you get out of the pool. Also wearing a blank Bikini is probably a great idea in case you leak because it covers it (: Thats wat i did (: Try not to worry as much and have fun :D

Personal Experience

ive never heard of your period stopping. i pretty much only use tampons and if it was umcomfortable then you probably didnt have it in far enough. honestly, you just push it up farther. you shouldnt ever be able to feel it. as far as swimming i know for me i use tampons but ive leaked IN a pool before and just had to change the tampon. maybe bring an extra tampon and half way through swimming and change it just to be sure but i can tell you for sure it wont come gushing out lol

hope that helps :)

I've been swimming while on my period b4 and I don't have a tampon in, and I don't bleed for at least another half an hour after getting out

Practice again

Change your tampon after getting out of the pool, and you will be fine.
