will my mom be okay with this?!

Question: Will my mom be okay with this?
She has to get a hysterectomy surgery next monday, she is worried about it but my sister that's a nurse said things will be find, she has to get everything taking out plus gallbladder, She is 63yrs old this is basically the first surgery she ever had, etc in her life since she was stubborn to go to the doctors before, she was that type of person, I know she'll be okay the thing I'm worried about is when they put you to sleep I just want her to wake up, I think she she'll be find though, the Doctor sent her all the directions on what to do, this week before Monday. You think she'll be okay? Just wondering, my sister said she'll be find to, she said everyone gets them done all the time.

Answers:

She should be fine. My mom had one a few years ago and she was so worried about it before.

My mom was just extremely drowsy after it and it lasted for a while. Also, my mom got it done when she was close to menopause, but the surgery induced menopause obviously and that was really hard for her to get used to. Your mom has probably been through it for the most part though.

I did a lot of research before my mom had hers. It's been about two years since she had it and she's fine. :) I was scared for her too.

I read that a hysterectomy is a major sugery, but it's the major surgery with the LEAST amount of risks. Any surgery is risky, but this is one of the least of the major surgeries.

She wil be fine I have had a partial one and my mom went through hers already and they are only asleep for like 4 hours and everything will be fine. Just take care of her when she comes out of the doctors because her hormones will be so crazy and she will be fussy and will probablly gain weight from it.

Of course she will be fine...but there is always a slim chance of mortality...there is nothing we can do about that, except have faith in your doctor. Chances are she will be fine.
