In most cases, it is perfectly normal to skip a period or two every now and then. You're still very young, and haven't had your periods for very long, and you're still growing. All of those three things can definitely contribute to irregular periods, which, yes, can cause you to skip every now and then. It takes a few years for your cycle to regulate itself, and even then, not everyone's cycle will ever be very regular.

But if you miss more than, say...3 in a row, you should go see a doctor to makes sure nothing is wrong (it would probably just be something simple like a hormonal imbalance...nothing too terribly scary).

And for your other question...really, I have no idea if you can get pregnant while swimming. I've heard of that in a fictional book...but seeing as that was fictitious, I have no idea if it can happen in real life or not. I don't know if sperm can easily survive in chlorine. I really wouldn't worry about that too much, though.

Your only 14. It can take several more years to get normal periods. Your body is still developing and growing. Don't worry about the missed periods unless you are sexually active. I hope you are not you are too young for that. No you cannot get pregnant from swimming. The guys sperm would die in the chlorine of the swimming pool water. It you were in a lake or stream the water there would kill the sperm. Outside a human body sperm cannot survive. I hope this answers your questions.
