Some women actually can't use a tampon or anything because it is painful to put anything in their vagina. If it is the first couple of times then that could be the reasoning. Your body is not used to having a foreign object there.Also try to relax your muscle sit somewhere comfortable and you actually have to angle the tampon so when it is inserted it places comfortably. And last but not least, the absorbency you are using might be too much. Try to start on the lowest absorbency you can.

No. It's strictly a matter of personal preference!

Learning to use tampons takes time and patience. But if you feel more comfortable using pads, there is absolutely no reason you can't use them exclusively. It's your body!

The only time tampons are necessary is if you want to swim while on your cycle. If you are OK with skipping the pool during your time of the month, no worries. It's not weird, or bad.

It took me a long time to figure out how to put tampons in the right way so they wouldn't hurt. For awhile I used the o.b. ones, it seems kinda gross the first few times you use them but for me they helped me learn how to use them. You should give them a try! and good luck!

It's normal to have trouble until you get the hang of it. Try putting a little KY Jelly or something similar on the tip of the tampon to help it slide in easier.

No its not but are you putting it in right? put it in when your really heavy so it doesn't hurt so much, it's how i managed to and now im fine with them.

No, of course not! There are pads too. The only time you would have to wear a tampon is if you wanted to get swimming on your period
