shaving "down there"?!

Question: Shaving "down there"?
I'm 15, and i shave down there like once a week, give or take. I dont use shaving cream, and on the days when i know i wont be with my boyfriend, i shave downward. but if we are going to do anything, i shave upward. i usually get a lot of red bumps (razor burn?) and sometimes i bleed. Am i doing it completely wrong? thanks.

Woohoo someone else who shaves their cooch :) firstly you mentioned you were having issues with razor bumps. If you buy a cheap conditioner it works just as well as a shaving cream. It gets a closer shave and makes the skin down there really nice and smooth. You will also need a razor. A very very sharp razor. They make it possible to get a close shave without any Knicks or bumps. You also need to shave in the direction your hair grows. Shaving against the grain will just cause more irritation and razor burn. It's also beneficial to put some sort of hydrating lotion on the area as well. It adds to the smoothness. Hope I was able to help! Best of wishes!

Yes you are. I dont know why you are shaving it anyway, I, and a lot of men think it can make a girl look like a child but each to their own. This is how you should do it properly if you still insist on doing it:

Soak in hot water first of all to soften the hairs.
Use some shave foam or even hair conditioner and put all over area
shave ONCE over each area, with a new, sharp razor.
hold a flannel/sponge under freezing cold water and then place over area for as long as possible to prevent bleeding/redness.

This should help for next time

New sharp Ladies razor (not the cheap ones!). soap is fine as lather.

Exfoliate every other day with an apricot scrub. This removes ichy stubbles and leaves you baby smooth.

Shave down with lather or hair conditioner, and make sure when you do it to keep the area hot and moist.

If Mother nature didn't won't you to have hair, you would never have grown any. That said, Brooke Phillips gave you good advise.

yes. you're shaving against the grain and getting ingrown hairs! Shave down!
