This is incredibly normal. The period on birth control is not a real period. It is merely caused by taking away the hormones that are tricking the body into thinking it is pregnant. The period should decrease over time and when the hormones kick back in with the active pills, it should decrease. It is also not uncommon to have breakthrough bleeding (random spotting) in the first three month of birth control. As for your boyfriend, you can still have sex on your period if you are comfortable with that, especially if it is light. Orgasms contract the uterus walls, so it can actually loosen up thing enough in there to help end your period (if it is toward the end anyway).

PS: It does not take 2 to 3 months to kick in. If you start your first pack during your period, it is effective immediately. If you start taking it at another time, it takes seven days to kick in.

Well there's nothing you can do about wishing it would stop. So plan on having sex while you are on it. Who cares?
You have only been on the pill for one month. It takes 2-3 months before it kicks in so if you do have sex, use a condom.
