Question: What's the earliest age to go through menopause?
i've been having hot flashes and shorter, lighter periods and i was wondering what the youngest age has been for someone to go through menopause?

Docs consider age 40 to be the cutoff for the age of natural menopause. But you can go through menopause earier than that. In fact, you can experience menopause even before you first have a period in your teens, when your ovaries stop working for some reason. Average age of menopause is 51, and for up to 10 years before that time, you can experience changes and side effects. You are not considered to be in menopause until you have not had a period for 12 months in a row.
