If you're using a large tampon for the first time, it may feel awkward and even hurt a bit.
I'd recommend using the smallest absorbency possible.
If you don't feel anything once it's in, you've done it correctly.

yes, it's very normal for it to hurt the first time. the reason why it was hurting was probably because you were breaking your hymen. which is a thin flap of skin. it doesn't hurt for some women because their hymens have already been broken from various activities like gymnastics or yoga or any sport where you could rip it while stretching. Many girls break it while they are very young and don't even notice. (some break it for the first time while having sex, which is why it can be uncomfortable for the first time) so now that you've used 1 there should be no or less pain. If there still is then you might be inserting it wrong but that's unlikely since you said you couldn't feel it after, which is good. :)

It usually should never hurt, but make sure you put it in all the way otherwise you will feel discomfort or pain that you most likely felt yesterday. Keep practicing it takes a little while to get used to using tampons but you'll get the hang of it. :D

I've been using tampons for 6 years.

Make sure u put it in at an angle, and I sit down to put it in! If u r still experiencing discomfort when u put it in after u try that, move back to pads for a while then try tampons again! :) hope this helps!

that's completley normal :)

Umm yeah I think so.

yah cause your not used to it...
