Question: Is this my period?! Help Please!?
Okay so about a week ago I started getting VERY light streaks of bright red blood in my usual discharge. (Keep in mind I am NOT sexual active, I'm 14 years old, and I got my VERY first period in January 2011) Throughout the week, I got a bit of brown added to the red streaks, and it got a bit heavier. Some times it would stop, other times it would be light again. Today it was quite heavy, and stung when I whiped it.It felt really dry down there. Is this my period, or is this spotting.. What is going on? PLEASE HELP!

What you're describing is perfectly normal! Menstruation is normally unpredictable that first year as your body finds its groove. You may skip periods some months, have light or heavy flow. Don't worry!

Most likely it's old blood left over from your last period. that is what the brown stuff is. the other light streaks of red could be your period. expect it to be irregular especially if you have just started a month ago. you might go a few months without having one and then you'll have it one month and it will be very heavy. Anyway, don't worry about it until you are around 16, that's when they should be regular.
