I've had 2 periods in 1 month?!

Question: I've had 2 periods in 1 month?
I just started my period last summer and they change when they start a lot, and in the past 2 months I've been getting them really early. This month I got it on the 1st, and it lasted about a week. I started another one today. Is this normal?

Answers:

Absolutely! When you get your period can range from 28-30 days apart or 21-45 days apart. That's considered normal for girls in the first few years of menstruation. That means you might have a period Sept 1, then another one on Sept 25 [24 days], then Oct. 31 [36 days], then Nov. 24 [24 days], then Jan. 7 [44 day!]. There's no rhyme or reason to that pattern, but those cycle lengths varying from 24-44 days are considered normal

I'm assuming you mean you started your first period ever last Summer? If so then yes it is normal. It can take many girls up to 2 years for their periods to settle into a regular pattern and even then some girls will still experience irregular periods, maybe indefinitely. As long as they are not extremely heavy or painful and do not prevent you from carrying on with your day to day life then you are fine. Oh and P.S, remember to keep on top of your iron intake.

This is perfectly normal to have more than one period in a month you just have an irregular cycle and this may or may not change as you get older but when you reach an appropriate age you may want to consider some form of hormonal birth control because it really helps regulate your period to a 28 day cycle.

It's perfectly normal! After a year or 2, your period should be regular.

My period did not become regular for the first year, and the cramps were very strong and painful, so hang in there if thats your only concern or problem.

since youve just started not so long again yes its normal for some girls
