Is this weird or normal?!

Question: Is this weird or normal?
Okay, I've had my period for like a year and one night i bled through and ever since then i can't really sleep because my dad has been staying home from work and I'm afraid I'll bled through and he'll see it.
Also i sit with my foot under me like by my butt and my other leg on top of my leg. Should i change these habits? or are they okay? i sit like that cause i can't feel the blood come out, because i feel gross when i feel it come out. And please don't say "use tampons" because i have before and they are uncomfortable! So any tips or ideas? or am i okay how i am?

Nah your fine, periods are definetely the crappy thing about being a woman. Sure its normal for you to feel kind of gross. Many people have heavy periods, just get extra thick pads, and sleep with a towel under you if your still worried.

Why would your dad see it? he's not in your room, is he? if you get any blood on sheets or whatever, just go wash them yourself, why is that a big deal?

Every woman deals with it luvvy, you'll get used to it!

Best wishes, don't freak out about it too much, its a fact of life and everyone knows about it, so no biggy!

xx

You're just fine hun. How you sit or stand or lay down is totally up to you and it won't affect your period. When my period first started, I would sit and lay down with my legs clamped because I thought I could stop the flow that way lol! The first few years are icky but you get you used to it in the end.

If you aren't sleep and you're sitting uncomfortably, then I'd say your habits should change so you can get some rest. Every girl has some story about leaking through. Sure, I've woken up to my period and had to change my sheets, and when you're young that can be traumatic since you don't want anyone to know. But guess what. Your period is going to keep coming around for another thirty or forty years so it's important for you to feel comfortable about it. Make sure your pads are the right size and always carefully inserted. Blood can be gross, but in the end it's your body so try not to think of it as too gross! You will be a lot happier if you relax a little when you have your period. Plus, just in case you bleed again, just cover the spot with a pillow until you have a little privacy. You'll have to sleep sometime anyway!
