I'm having cyst removed from ovary what should I expect?!

Question: I'm having cyst removed from ovary what should I expect?
I have a 5 inch cyst on my left ovary on Tuesday 22nd march... I'm really scared as I have never had an operation before. I'm having a laparoscopy, what should I expect please help

Answers:

I had a very large cyst which covered almost my entire ovary as well as numerous smaller ones removed a couple of months ago, I also had a few other issues dealt with at the same time, I had severe adhesion's which had to be cut away, so hopefully your experience may be better than mine and you may recover quicker.
Don't be scared, a laparoscopy is quite common and doctors perform it all the time.
I felt very achey afterwards, similar to period pains but worse, and I found it difficult to get out of bed, I had to be lifted out of bed as all my lower muscles hurt so I couldn't tense them. The pain got worse for about 3 days and then started to get better. After a week I walked into my doctors appointment for a checkup and she was surprised I was walking so well. My advice is don't plan to do anything, just laze around in bed until you feel like getting up and moving around. Hope this helps :)
