is this likely pregnancy if..?!

Question: Is this likely pregnancy if..?
i'm on birth control and 8 days ago my boyfriend and i used to pull out method along with the protection of my birth control. My periods are irregular and happen randomly so its not like i know when my period is supposed to be to see if i miss it and take a test. Anyways, if i missed a pill 3 days AFTER intercourse will that have a huge effect making me more prone to pregnancy? That was the first time i ever missed a pill by the way. I have also been having what feels like menstrual cramps and backaches like i normally feel when i ovulate but when i do ovulate i don't always bleed as a effect of birth control. Would those happen if i was pregnant? i have also had alot of clear vaginal discharge, which sometimes happens for me in replace of my period

Answers:

I really think you're fine. Missing just one, especially if you haven't missed one before generally doesn't compromise the effectiveness very much at all as long as you remember to take it before the time you would normally have taken your next one. If you give the specific brand of your birth control I could maybe try to get better information for you. But the package insert should be able to tell you. Mine for instance says that if you miss one you don't even need backup birth control if you have sex, but different brands say different things. Sperm can potentially live in the womb for up to three days (I've heard seven too but it was from less reliable sources) but that's a long shot. If you're on a birth control pill you don't ovulate by the way that's kind of the whole point of hormonal birth control..

So.. No it is very unlikely that you are pregnant. Take a test if you need further peace of mind.
