Girl Problem? Please only answer if you're a woman.?!

Question: Girl Problem? Please only answer if you're a woman.?
Ok so every time I get my period (about twice a month) it hurts soooo much. The cramps just exhaust me and make me want to just curl up in a little ball and disappear. I usually take 1 ibuprofen but now that isn't even helping.

I think one of the reasons it hurts so much is because i'm underweight. I'm 75 pounds 5ft 2in and 16.
My doctor always tells me I need to gain more weight but it's really hard. I'm not anorexic I can eat like a pig when I want too. I just have a really fast metabolism or something. I eat normally but I just don't gain weight and I haven't for 4 years.

My mom hates fast food and doesn't let me buy snacks or desserts so it's not like I really even have that much extra stuff around the house to eat anyways.

My mom also doesn't understand how very painful my cramps can be. She always rolls her eyes at me and tells me to stop being a baby and that I'm just over exaggerating.

They always seem to come around on weekends that I have plans and then because of the pain I wind up canceling :(

My best friend keeps getting mad at me because she doesn't understand either (she doesn't have hers yet) and she thinks i'm just making an excuse to not see her. (Which is hard to do in the first place because she lives 2 hours away.)

I can't go to the doctor because my mom is a doctor and she thinks i'm just trying to get out of doing stuff so she won't do anything about it besides telling me to suck it up.

It hurts so much though. I always feel like i'm going to throw up (and sometimes I do) and it tends to make me feverish and dizzy.

I take two "One a day" vitamins (for adults) a day so i'm not low on vitamins.

Any advice helps :)
Thank you!

If you are having your period twice a month something is wrong. You're 5'2" and only 75 pounds and can't gain weight. What's wrong with your doctor mom if she can't see something is wrong. Is there anyone else you can talk to about your problems? You need someone to intercede on your behalf. An aunt, your grandmother, a cousin, anyone close to you could talk to your mom for you. I'm just finding it hard to believe your mother can't see this for herself. Good Luck sweetie.

you could have a thyroid disorder that prevents you from gaining weight, also ask your doctor about endometriosis. sometimes cramps are just awful, try a hot water bottle if you're home on the couch... sorry you're mom isn't compassionate about your aches and pains. good luck with solving your menses issues.

2 Paracetimol really helps me!, im 15 and im very underweight too, im 7st 2lbs and 5ft 2" and also I eat like a pig when i want to xD When I'm on my period I feel very nauseas and just lay on the sofa with a hot waterbottle. What I also find that works is just laying in bed watching a film and just holding a teddy against your stomach. Also, the film helps me take my mind off of the pain. Have a friend round or something and talk to them to also get your mind off of it. Most of the pain is caused mentally because you think about it an awful lot. But trust me, those things do work, and if not, they do make the situation alot more bearable, good luck! :) xx

I usually dont get cramps during my period, and if anything the cramps are mild and at the very end. Th only advice i can give is maybe try doing something to get your mind off of it. Maybe going out isn't such a bad idea, because when I go out with a stomach ache, my friends turn my focus to other things besides the pain I'm undergoing. Also, take Midol. My sister says it works well. Hope it works! (: good luck!

Thought about trying yoga relaxation could help cramps, are you tensing yourself, some times we focus on pain and mentally it can drive us mad, perhaps you could try another type of tablet, take at more regular intervals, as per the usage instructions. Very common problem imho.
