You're still young so irregularity in your menstrual cycle is to be expected, but if you're seriously concerned, then I suggest you go to your doctor/OBGYN. When I was your age and started to have my period, I remember I didn't have my period for almost a year (9-10 months!) and I was totally freaked out. I went to see my doctor and she said that it was normal for me to experience an irregular cycle since my body was still growing and going through puberty. As I grew up, my cycle regulated itself but on rare occasions, I sometimes skip a month.

Is the white discharge kind of clear clear and sticky or is it more thick and solid, like cottage cheese? If it's sticky, that's normal discharge that happens during your cycle and is a sign that your cycle is still working. If it's more like cottage cheese, then it's probably a yeast infection and you'll need to see a doctor. Yeast infections aren't a big deal and can happen to anyone but need to be seen by a doctor, at least the first time you get one.

A yeast infection won't make your period stop, though. It's normal for your cycle to be irregular when you're in your teens and isn't something to worry about. If you're thin or play a lot of sports, you may not have enough body fat to have a period so it will start again when you gain weight. This happens to a lot of women who run track. As long as you aren't having other symptoms like pain in your abdomen or new hair growth like around your chin then don't worry.

The 'white stuff', as long as there's no itch or funky smell (you'd KNOW) to it, is perfectly normal. All women have discharge. It's your vagina's way of keeping itself clean and healthy. No worries.
An irregular period in a young girl is actually normal. If it doesn't come within then next month, you should talk to your doctor about it. There's nothing to worry about, it's just that sometimes your body needs a little extra help getting itself "regular". :)

Nope, this is totally normal for your age. Periods are commonly psychotic for the first few years. Pretty much every female I've ever talked to about this had irregularity all through her teens. With me it was even sillier... I was regular on the money for the first year and then it went nuts for the next two years. I wouldn't worry about it... actually... enjoy not having it for a couple months, haha. It will be back.

But for future reference, there can be a large number of medical reasons you miss periods... complications with hormones from BC, hormone supplements, hormones in your food, pregnancy (being the obvious one), a number of diseases, stress (this is a big one, I have missed periods a few times in college because of stress), undereating/malnutrition, being generally unhealthy with your lifestyle, some drugs and the list goes on. So as you get older, if it becomes regular for a long time and then goes irregular and you're still quite healthy and haven't altered your lifestyle, then definitely talk to a gynecologist. But for now... you're fine.

I'm 13 (14 next month) and didn't have my period for a 7 month gap! Don't be worried, lots of stuff that is normal can cause this, first off when your a teen you periods tend to be irregular. Stress can delay your period also. If you do a ton of exercise this could also change your period. Or if your not eating healthy. I just thank the gods when I get to skip my period for a month, I hate getting it!
Good Luck :)
