Please answer! emergency!?!

Question: Please answer! emergency!?
For about 3-4 years now, ive had extreme stomach pain on and off and have gone to the ER for it multiple times. I'm terriffied of needles so wen i refused to do the lab work, they didn't think any other tests were necesary. over a year and a half ago i started feeling a lump about an inch/half inch or so maybe?? above my left hip bone in my lower left abdomen, but no docters ever took it seriously, just thought i was constipated. but I wasnt, because i think i wouldve noticed if i was... I was definetly going to the bathroom regularly and wenever i was put on laxitives they didnt make me go to the bathroom any more than usual. I live with my dad and im 13, and wen i went to visit my mom for vacation last month, she felt the "bump" (which causes me severe pain and is often sticking out, sometimes visible even) and decided to take me to the docters. They did an xray and again said i was "constipated" but on the ultra sound they found a small cyst on my right ovary (which i am feeling much pain from as well, i dont have exact measurments) and a 7cm cyst on my left, and they said the entire ovary was enlarged. Could this go away?! will i need surgery??? i kind of want it just so i wont have to have this constant pain anymore... im begging someone to answer this question. Could something be wrong with me for having two cysts?! please help, im scared!

Ignore "AngelBunny"'s answer. This doesn't mean you'll have problems having kids or anything like that. And it doesn't sound like you have PCOS--when you have PCOS you have a particular type and pattern of cysts, and that's not what you are describing.

Most likely you have the cysts that are common in women during the fertile years, almost all of which are harmless and go away on their own. There are 3 ways to treat them.
1) do nothing. The doc won't probably do this because it's already been a few years
2) put you on birth control pills to shrink the cysts. This is the most likely thing they'll do.
3) surgery to remove the cysts if the other options don't work. This won't be the thing they'll do right away.

Also, go start eating prunes of lots of vegetables so your constipation goes away.

dont worry cyst r common they will probobly have to do surgery but it will make u feel better.best wishes

Hi Shannon. Ovarian cysts are very common. Many women get them. Sometimes they cause no symptoms, other times they can cause many symptoms. If they get too big, medication, or surgery may be needed to get rid of them. There is also a disease called PCOS. It's when you have cysts on your ovaries, and you can also gain a lot of weight, grow facial hair, stop getting your period, have hair loss and acne, and have abdominal pain. You should really see a specialist, and get tested for PCOS, because it can get serious. If you want to have children in the future, it's best to find out what's going on, because cysts can make it hard for you to get pregnant sometimes. Good luck, and take care.
