I cannot lose weight I am so frustrated. I keep gaining!?!

Question: I cannot lose weight I am so frustrated. I keep gaining!?
I have tried almost everything over the 12 years except starvation. I'm 5'2 at 11 stones. I can only lose 10 pounds. That is it! I've recently put all that back on because I've started eating 3 meals a day. If I want to lose weight I have to eat two. Seriously I cannot eat more than 2 meals a day if I want to be 10 stone. I can't lose more. I've had my thyroid tested, which came out 2.17 which is on the high end slightly but not enough to be medicated. I'm going to get a full thyroid function test and also get tested for pcos (it runs in the family and causes weight gain). Anything else I can get tested for that causes weight gain?

Besides your Thyroid and PCOS, I am unsure of anything that they could test you for. I have PCOS and I have been battling my weight for about a year now. I lose 20lbs and then it always seems like I gain 25lbs back. I used to be a very skinny person! The only thing that I have found that actually seems to work is to be on birth control constantly to regulate my hormones and STAY ON a "Yoga Diet" and exercise several times a week. But I often find that hard to do. Maybe you are more strong-willed than I am, so I will tell you this regimen, that actually works (if you stick to it). A yoga diet is basically a "raw" vegan diet. Literally, the only things you can eat are fresh (raw) fruits and vegetables. Only fruit in the morning. For dinner and lunch only raw veggies (your choice) and a "lean" protein, such as beans, fish, or chicken (NO RED MEAT OR PORK!). Nothing breaded or fried though. So you CAN eat 3 meals a day. As a snack, you can have nuts (like peanuts or whatever you like). There is no limit on how much you can eat when it comes to the fruit and vegetables. Eat them when you feel hungry! You will lose weight very quickly with just the diet alone, but if you add exercise, you will lose even faster and gain some good muscle definition (And obviously, it's super good for you). I usually try to hit the treadmill at least 3-5 times a week for an hour or so. That's pretty much it. The last time I truly stuck to it, I lost 20lbs in less than 2 weeks, and I was never hungry. But again, it's super hard to stick to (especially if you love food and red meat, like I do). If you want to give it a try, I am certain that it will work for you. Even if you have thyroid issues or PCOS. I do hope this helps you! Good luck and best wishes :)

Personal experience and the diet and exercise were recommended by my doctor.

Count your calories. Don't cheat, you have to count EVERYTHING.

Drink tea or coffee? Count it.

Put milk and sugar in the drink? Count them both

Put sauce on your food? Count it.

Eat half a chocolate bar? Count it.

Count calories of everything you swallow, food, drinks, sauces, sugar, anything you add to food.

Don't be so frustrated about weight. Your Bless because you have that weight. your frustrated to your weight because you are looking to some people who have a slim body. think that even though you have that weight you can do things that no over people can do because of there weight.

I know this may sound obvious but the best way to lose weight is really exercise and diet. There are many fads out there that don't work.

You don't seem to have mentioned exercise?

GP for more years than I care to remember
