My period is over a month late?!

Question: My period is over a month late?
I'm almost seventeen, I've had my period since I was about twelve. It's been pretty regular for the last couple of years up until now.

There is no way I could be pregnant, so that's not the issue. I'm not on birth control or any other types of drugs, medical or not. I'm completely clean.

I know that stress can sometimes cause periods to be late, but I haven't been stressing over anything, really.

By the end of this week, (unless I get it then) my period will be two months late. This hasn't happened since I first got it.

What could be the cause?

Answers:

Probably just a hormonal thing, but if you don't get it very soon or feel it coming on, I would suggest scheduling an appointment w/your OBGYN. Sometimes, when the hormones start slacking they can need a jump start. My hormones were so messed up for a period of time that twice I went two months w/no period, and one of the times I went to my doctor and they gave me a shot to make me get my period (a progesterone injection).

If it continues to be irregular, it may be a good idea to look into birth control just to regulate the hormones so your body knows what's going on.

Stress, Illness, Change in Schedule or change in medication, or Weight change. Everything will be fine.

You're dying. Go see a doctor.
