How do I properly and safely get rid of a cyst on my labia?!

Question: How do I properly and safely get rid of a cyst on my labia?
I noticed this evening while washing that a small painful lump had appeared inside my labia minora, right at the very end. It must have developed during the day because it wasn't there this morning. It feels kind of like a small zit, only very hard so it's more of a cyst. But there's no white "cap" on it unless I stretch the labia out, but then the whole bump turns white like the tips of your fingers when you grab something really tightly. Normally it looks just like the skin, no redness or irritation to mark the spot and I have to feel around to find it. But it really hurts when I touch it and when there's any movement down there, so basically whenever I walk or move or sit or do anything really. It's awesome. It's about the size of a smushed pea, and it's a bit uneven in its shape. I've been googling and looking for answers and it's probably what I described earlier, a "zit" or a small cyst, and I've tried to find some concrete advice on how to get rid of this thing properly without damaging myself (it's a really sensitive area, guys. I'm not about to slather just about anything down there.)

I've found some advice but most of it completely contradicts one another. Some say a warm compress and popping it is a good idea but some say that's the last thing you should do because the heat allows the bacteria to flourish and squeezing it will only spread the infection out and make it worse. I don't think popping mine would work since it's located inside my labia so it's too deep and would only spread the pus around instead getting it out. I've also heard of "spearing", which I probably will never do. I'm too much of a wimp to poke holes in myself with needles, especially down there. So, what to do? Are there any simple, non-expensive homemade solutions you can recommend that doesn't involve maiming myself? Are there any good creams or tonics you can get at the pharmacy? I really want to get rid of this thing quickly because it hurts and it's no fun having painful icky things near your vagina. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Note: I know for certain it's not an STD related thing. I also read that women get these more often around their period which fits because I've just had mine. I also think I've had this before when I was younger and it went away on it's own, but I can't really remember.

Firstly, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for submitting a well written, thought out question, complete with some research. Seriously, thank you. It's refreshing.

So, to the answer. The warm compress idea is right on, that generally helps with cysts. You don't need to worry about it encouraging bacterial growth, because honestly the vagina and vulva are about the most perfect breeding ground for bacteria and yeast ever already. That's why we all get the unique pleasure of yeast infections and/or BV every now and again.

I wouldn't try and pop it unless it's very topical and has a well defined capsule. Just keep the area clean, and hold a warm compress on it as often as possible.

You really have to leave it. They usually go away within 3 days.

If you had what I had it is a cyst . My doctor said people who shave down there are more prone to getting them. They had to give me a numbing shot down there and cut it open to let it drain. That was bc I let it get too far before getting medical attention and prolly bc I kept squishing on it. They said you can sit in a hot salt bath and it can make it go away. It will take a few days and a lot of baths
