Is it normal or do I need to go to the doctor?!

Question: Is it normal or do I need to go to the doctor?
I have been having my period for the last ten months and they are heavy, pain full, and last around nine days. some months I will have two heavy periods that last seven to nine days and I go thorough a maxi pad every hour or two. And in the months I ave two there is some bleeding in the middle of the month as well. I have had extreme cramps and mood swings. I have gone from extremely happy to seriously considering to murder others and my self when I'm on my my period. I take Tylenol and lock myself so my mood doesn't lose control and I can relax. And another thing is that before and sometimes during my period I'll feel pain in my lower chest as I breath. I have to lie down on my back to make the pain go away so I can breath. It happens when I have cramps. I can feel my muscles cramp up under my belly button too. It feels like some one is squeezing me dry, punching me, stabbing me, and pulling on my guts from the inside of uterus. or like a sharp pointy stone sitting in a balloon. I'm 14 now and I would like to know if all of this is normal. I have been thinking of going to the doctors sense the last two months of 2010. I need someone other than my mom to help me here. She gust says the same thing over and over and I question if its nothing or something that needs real attention. I have only heavy periods that are long and painful

Answers:

trust me, honey, you and i are the same. go to the doctor and get on Yaz or so. it helps with the mood and cramps, and clears up acne. mine used to be so bad i would faint and i would punch people when they talked to me.
it is normal, but you might want to get on BC to help you . Trust me, it'll change your life.
(: hope this helps.

Oh, ps, don't take tylenol, it's not for menstrual cramps in my experience. i take pamprin. (SP?)

If you have only been having periods for a year, it does take a while for you to regulate, but this sounds extreme. I would see your doctor because it could be a sign of trouble. If you are only 14, it likely is not, but better safe than sorry.

you should honestly consult a doctor
