Question: Please help me...im so scared =(?
Your Question
PCOS. Birth Control, and Pregnancy?
I am 16 years old. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have been on birthcontrol for about 6 months. I had to switch brands so after my "inactive pills" or period week. I started a new pack that next Sunday. The next thursday I had unprotected sex. (please do not comment on how stupid I am..I'm aware =[...)... I have been crying..I am so scared. I know that girls with PCOS have a chance of being infertile..some websites I read said that birth control still works after switching as long as you take it the sunday of the next month..but im still terrified ='(...do you think I will be ok. I am not ready to be pregnant ='(...please no rude comments

Answers:

You're on a birth control, pill, dear. The possibility of you being pregnant is VERY remote. But by all means take a pregnancy test just to give yourself peace of mind.

I would be more concerned about the risk of catching an STD from having unprotected sex. An unplanned pregnancy can be dealt with one way or another, but an STD can cause serious infertility problems, cervical cancer, and don't forget there is still no cure for AIDS. If you notice anything odd in the next while, go see your doctor about it. And next time you are getting a smear test - and you should get one now that you have been sexually active - ask them if they check for chlamydia, as this is one that's hard to notice immediately.

being a PCOS doesn't mean that u cannot be fertilized to hold a embryo. people do get pregnant having PCOS. Since u r in birth control pills. it may protect u from unprotected sex.but there is no surety .hence i can suggest to have 72 hrs contraceptive pills. like ipill or etc. BUT it is highly advisable to visit your gynecologist. who can suggest u better. . nothing to be worried about. everything has a solution. in future do follow the protectiveness =. better luck next time. enjoy

in the old days in egypt people got pregnat at 12 years of age, later in the future people began getting pregnat at around 18 but this is today and a young female with her whole life ahead of her should not be pregnat, you say your aware of the stupidity, but just think about this in the scientific point of viwe, sexual activities are for reproduction, so whenever you comit to them have in mind that you may just end up with a baby 9 months from the moments, always have it in mind. as for you being pregnat, first you have PCOS and you took a birthcontroll pill. i have no experience withany of these things but its obvious that chsnces are pretty slim either way honey go get a test, its bettter to fall than to hang and if your pregnat try to face it in a mature way by getting help and taking a look at your chances, if you handel thinsg well your life can be whatever you want to make it.
