Girls: I have a question about "that time of the month!"?!

Question: Girls: I have a question about "that time of the month!"?
Okay, so I just started my period today. (i'm 14) I got some tampons, and pads too, but i want to use tampons. I just tried to put one in, and it was not pleasant, so i gave up for now. i'll try again tomorrow. Is it supposed to kinda hurt the first time you put a tampon in?

Answers:

I would use a pad for the first couple months you get your period till it regulates a little bit some girls get toxic shock syndrome (read on the instruction papers that come with tampons it should explain TSS) but the first time i used a tampon it hurt for the whole day but if you put it in on an angle it should just slide on in after the first couple times using it you will get use to it and it is much more convenient then pads for me especially in school but still wear a light bad encase it bleeds through the tampon hope i helped!

i just got use to using tampons i use the injector ones @ boots the trick is, is to put your finger in the whole with the tampon to guide it up i know it sounds gross but try it like i was saying put the finger up the whole with the tampon because you'd be guiding the tampon make sure you push it up far enough.
hope i help
also read instructions they give good techniques make sure to try putting one leg on the toilet seat or get a mirror and put it on the floor and stand over it so you can see what your doing
hope i helped

It will be a little uncomfortable, yes. That is normal. But what time of tampon did you get?

Light Absorbency would be good for you or even regular. I would not go with the Supers. They are larger than normal and typically may cause pain if you are small.

you should always start off wearing pads then move onto tampons...while tampons might not always be the most comfortable thing, weather it hurts or not all depends on the brand and if you put it in correctly

You need to start with pads until your period regulates in a few years so that you can get the right kind for your flow. It does hurt the first few times. Please just start with pads!

Yes the first time i put one in was so akward it felt so wierd you get used to it though

Yes It Is But Just Use THem More Often And You Will et Use To THem THey Will Get Uncomfortable and if they really hurt when you are standing up then u may not have put them all the way in which makes your which stay open which hurts so you may have to take it out and put another one in don't be afraid to put it far in it wont hurt you also since you are first starting you may want to use some very small one when i first started i used my schools because they were very very small and then once i got used to them i moved up to regulars now i would always buy once with applicators because self applicators are very hard self applicators are where you have to put the tampon in with your bare fingers which can hurt can be very gross and smelly and it can be all together very unpleasant but know that no matter what its gonna take some time getting used to them i got used to them fast because im on swim team but you may be different and also make sure to change them for every 2 or 3 hours for if the tampon gets full then it will stop up your blood and can severely hurt or kill you it can cause damage to your vagina and organs so be careful not to wear them for too long also sometimes after a little while they leak oh and make sure the string hangs out of your vagina so you can pull it out btw pulling it out is unpleasant no matter what i still don't even like it but it will start to feel better pulling it out after a little while now just remember all this is gonna take time getting used to it all of this just needs to soak in so don't freak out just because they are uncomfortable or hurt... and just in case you want to know i am 13 and i got my period when i was 9
