i'm married, 22, and haven't had a period in around 5 months. What is !

Question: I'm married, 22, and haven't had a period in around 5 months. What is wrong with me?
ok, like i said, i'm married, so obviously sexually active. I was on the pill but it was causing major migraines and my doctor refused to change it to another one, so i quit taking it in october. I have not had my period since then. after a month of no period i took a pregnancy test and it was negative, i did the same the next 2 months and i got the same results. I'm a little over weight, i don't know if that is relevant but i'm at my wits end. i need to know what is wrong with me or what i need to do to get back to normal. please help I do appreciate it!

First, I'd find a better doctor who is sensitive to your needs. Then, I'd have the new doctor check for pregnancy. If not pregnant, then check to see what is the problem. If you took the pill for a long time, it could have just messed with your hormones temporarily. But, better safe than sorry. Go to the doctor. Good luck.

sigh.......personally, women seem overly obsessed with their periods. I've my for 30 years and I've never kept track of when it comes and goes, how long it is, etc. It comes it goes. If it doesn't come, I'm very happy.
I think you need to relax and forget about it. I don't know of any cancer where the side affect is not having a period!!!

GO TO A DOCTOR !
Sometimes pregnacy tests can come
out negative.. so get one from the
doctors. thats how you can be positive
you are not pregnant .

Just think , what if you were pregnant ?
You would be killing the baby by not
knowing and doing the right things !

well a doctors test is much more effective ask for a blood test those are the most accurate!
Hope this helps!

you are most likely pregnant.

i'd go to your dr and get a pregnancy test done that way and then they can investigate if thats not it into what it is

The pill wreaks havoc on your body's hormones and it can take a year after quitting to achieve a proper balance again (if not more). Other factors that will affect your period are your diet, exercise, stress levels (worrying about your period will paradoxically scare it off), and general health (frequent illness can also prevent you from getting your period).

If your period was normal prior to taking the pill, and your pregnancy tests are coming back negative, then I would sit back and let your hormones run your course.

My period has always been very regular, and then I skipped it for three months straight because I got sick (nothing serious) and was eating different foods. So you see, our periods are very fickle and totally unpredictable. If your doctor wasn't concerned and you don't have any other symptoms, then I wouldn't worry. But do be prepared since your next period will catch you totally unawares!
