My pads won't let me breathe?!

Question: My pads won't let me breathe?
Okay so I got my first period on Feb. 1st and its been extremely irregular so I keep a pad on at all times cause I never know when it will spring on me. The problem is, I have cotton panties so THOSE breath but my vagina can't and I hear that that is really bad and can cause infections. What can I do?

Answers:

use those really thin panty liners instead. it should help and give you enough protection if it does come.

when you first have a period, in the next 2 years, they will be extremly irregular.
why? i'm not sure but i'm sure someone els will explain it or you can google it.
i don't think you should have a pad on every single day (unless you are a heavy bleeder)
its okay if you have to throw out a pair of underwhere once in a while.

when i have my period, on the first day, only a little blood will come out when i'm using the bathroom.
then when that happends, i just wrap some toilat paper around 2 fingers and use that as a pad until i can get my hands on one.

i think you should do that instead of using a pad every single day if its causeing your vagina to not breathe. good luck!

Your vagina can breathe. It's self cleaning and self regulating, so just let it do its thing, and its fine. I would recommend not wearing a pad all the time, although I did the same thing when I was younger. Your period will probably be irregular for a while, and that's normal. Until you get on a regular cycle just carry a small pantyliner or small pad in your purse or backpack. They make really cute bags for small tampons now, so nobody has to know.
