Am I freakishly tall? (10 points best answer)?!

Question: Am I freakishly tall? (10 points best answer)?
Hi guys, my name is Susie and I'm 13 years old and 5'10. I've always wanted to be tall but I'm starting to worry if I'm freakishly tall.
My mum is 5'2 and I was taller than her when I was like 9 and my dad is 5'8 and now I'm taller than him and it's just a bit of an embarrassment.
I've only just started puberty so I think I have 3-4 years of growing time left.
Am I freakishly tall? And can I stop growing?

Answers:

Individuals generally hit their growth spurt when they hit puberty. Since you're that tall, I assume you've already hit puberty. For example, have you started your period? began/grown breasts? have larger hips and a smaller waist (aka a general more "shapely" figure) than when you were a child? Have you began to grow pubic, armpit, and/or leg hair? Has your voice changed in pitch?

If you have answered yes to most of those questions, chances are, you're either mostly done puberty or are atleast going through it currently.

If you HAVEN'T hit puberty, I don't imagine you will grow more than say, 4 inches, before you're finished growing at age 16.

Don't forget, while you ARE 50% your mom and 50% your dad, that ALSO means your 25% each (of 4) grandparents. Or 13.5% of your greatgrandparents (all 8 of them). So, are your grandparents or greatparents tall people? If so, it's completely normal that you are that height.

If you know that you have a family of short individuals, well, many things (such as your environment) could have promoted more growth than usual in your family.

Generally, a female will outgrow her mother but not her father. Then again, men (if you are north anerican) are generally 5'10" +, and it's pretty rare a woman will grow over 5'10". So that's part of the contributors. So, I suppose it's a little atypical you outgrew your FATHER'S height, but that doesn't mean you're "freakishly tall".

For example, I'm 6'1" (female). I don't consider myself "freakish". Of course, I certainly don't consider myself average height for a female, either!! Then again, my mother was 5'7" (rather typical height for a female (though she wasn't north american, she was irish), and my father is 6'3". Also, my dad's mom is 6'1". So my dad is tall, and his mom is tall. Hence why I'm probably tall. The other relatives in my family (grandparents or greatgrandparents; or blood-related aunts & uncles) aren't particularly tall, but, still, I can trace my height genetics from my father, and thus, his parents.

Whoa. Ever think about playing basketball?? Because you really should!!! No nothing is wrong with you, although you are VERY tall for your age!
