I want to wear tampons but...?!

Question: I want to wear tampons but...?
Hi.

I got my first period yesterday, and it's AWFUL! Pads are so messy and you CONSTANTLY have to change them! So, I want to switch to tampons, but I'm a virgin. My hymen is still very much intact and I have no idea how to insert a tampon without breaking my hymen! Do I aim it up and insert, do I aim it down, do I aim it straight?! I'm so confused!

I'm 13 by the way. >.<

Can ANYONE give me a detailed explanation on how to insert one?

Answers:

Well your hymen isn't really a big deal. Having a broken hymen doesn't make you any less of a virgin. Some girls can break them playing sports or riding a bike, and some girls are even born without a hymen. It's really a useless membrane so it doesn't matter if a tampon breaks it. Because it probably will.

Inserting a tampon is like, the easiest thing ever. You unwrap it, spread your legs, find the hole, put your thumb and middle finger on the grip on the tampon, push the skinnier part into the bigger part with your pointer finger at a slight upward angle, and then you pull both plastic pieces out. Here's a diagram if you need, promise it's not a porn site haha.

Good luck :)

LOL, I went through the same thing when I started my period. This will not break your hyman.

My daughter said:

It might be a little uncomfortable to insert and remove the first few times because you will be rubbing against your hymen, but a tampon alone is not large enough to break your hymen.

Make sure you buy the smallest size to start with. If you want it to glide in easier use a kind with a plastic applicator (I use Tampax pearl) and put a little vaseline on the outside of the applicator before you put it in.

Sit on commode, as you insert it point it toward the base of your spine (don't try to stick it straight in, it must be angled), Slowly insert. Push in plastic pusher. remove once tampax is in place.

Do not flush down commode, either the applicator or tampon. Will stop up commode.

Okay, well its best to wait to use a tampom but if your desperate then okay its your decision. Wash your hands first, stay relaxed as possible. Open your legs mayble put one on a toilet seat make sure your standing up.

I would recomend tampax pearl, or one with a cardboard or plastic applicator. Make sure you use the lighest obsorbency for your flow, and change every 4-8 hours or according to the instructions that come with them. Aim towards the bottom of your back, diagonally.

For more info on how to insert look on Youtube? Hope this helped! :)

Mee!

Tampons are not good for you. when you ready to use them - use good brands (from health food stores) made from organic cotton the ones that were not bleached. Chemicals will be absorbed by you vaginal cells and may cause cancer after some time. Pads are kinda messy, but hey its natural to bleed during your period.
Your older family member should explain how to insert one pus all tampons come with instructions!
Good luck

I'm a virgin too and I use them. Just squat on the toilet and insert it through the hole. It will feel weird when you first put it in but once you push it up past the muscle you relax and feel fine.

the box will have detailed instructions to follow. but basically it only has one way to go. you take the tampon by the top, put in till u reach fingers holding it then push plunger. congrats on making it to women hood

ok...so first of all let's clear up that there is no possible way for a tampon to break you hymen unless you're inserting like 7 at once. Just relax, it helps alot
