Child Support In Illinois?!

Question: Child Support In Illinois?
Well my due date is in 2 months. The baby's father hasn't been around not one bit. He hasn't even asked to see if im alive. He has been ignoring me. So with no doubt in mind my baby is going to have my last name. But the question is will i be able to get child support even though his father wont be in the birth certificate?

Answers:

Yes. He will either agree and sign paternity papers or disagree and then have a DNA test. If he is the father or signs the paternity papers he will be ordered to pay child support. Also after the paternity test his name can be put on the birth certificate. or he can sign the paternity papers before the baby leaves the hospital. But you can't just put his name on the birth certificate.

If you are positive this man is his father you can still put his name on the birth certificate.

I would do this is I wanted to get Child Support.
